# Sun City Reopens After Level 4 Lockdown Lifted

After announcing the reopening of some its properties such as the [Wild Coast Casino](https://www.southafricancasinos.co.za/casino-resorts/wild-coast-sun-casino.html) and Resort, Sun International said that its flagship casino, [Sun City](https://www.southafricancasinos.co.za/sun-city-casino.html) has now also opened its doors once more to the public.
South Africa lifted its level 4 lockdown recently, a few weeks after the President tightened restrictions due to a surge in the number of COVID-19 cases.
Sun International was keen to reopen its casinos as quickly as possible to counter the hits taken by the gambling and hospitality industries since the pandemic broke at the beginning of last year.

## Fun Segway Tours
In the meantime, Sun International said while its famous Valley of Waves is under construction, visitors will still find lots to do in the form of outdoor entertainment – including Segway tours.
In a statement issued by Sun International about the Segway tours, it said: “The patient guides will take you through your paces, first teaching you how to operate and balance on a Segway – it isn’t as seamless as it looks – and then guide you along the paths that meander around. Your guide will also alert you if you need to stop for any reason, such as when a golfer is teeing off.”
## Winter Fun
Sun City is pulling all the stops to advertise the resort as the ideal winter getaway destination. Now that the resort has reopened after level 4 lockdown, Sun City is reminding locals that winter is the perfect time to go animal spotting. ## Sun City Becomes Covid-19 Vaccine Site
But just as a reminder of the times that we’re living in, Sun City also opened the first tourism and hospitality industry COVID-19 workplace vaccination site. It’s expected that the resort will vaccinate around 7,500 people in three phases from its convention center. It’s important to remember that this campaign will not affect the daily operations of the resort in any way.
The resort will begin with Sun City staff, service providers and concessionaires, before offering the vaccine to their family members. The vaccine will then be given to those working at hospitality establishments in the Moses Kotane District.
According to Sun City’s general manager, Brett Hoppe: “We obviously want to protect our staff, but it is equally important to us to ensure that people living in our local communities are looked after and are safe.”
